For this week’s Top Ten Tuesday it’s all about top ten books I’ve read so far this year. I’m halfway through my 2015 reading goals and I’m lucky to have read a few favorites enough to fill this list. I have to say I’m quite lucky that majority of the books I’ve read this year have been really good. So enough talking, onto the list now.
Note that this list is in random order.
1. Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas
This book was the bomb, because it made my brains explode and go blank after reading this. It was like my soul suddenly left me and wander to someplace because this book was just, UGH, mind-blowing. It was so crazy I almost pulled my hair out. I was literally staring at my wall for about 20-30 mins because this book was like a slap in the face type of book. You never expect it until BOOM you’ve been slapped.
2. Beauty and the Mustache by Penny Reid
Of course this list wouldn’t be complete without a book from my favorite author. This book was my second favorite in her Knitting in the City series, so far, because Drew is love *swoons*. To understand why it was so hard for me not to fall in love with Drew this book, you need to read my review.
3. Then Came You by Lisa Kleypas
After I fell in love with her Travises series I decided to pick up a historical romance from the same author, and I was hooked. I was a bit wary to try historical romance before but after trying this I kept on reading a lot after.
4. The Virgin Romance Novelist by Meghan Quinn
I requested this from netgalley because the blurb sounded interesting and it looked like an easy read, but I was wrong. It was hilarious and was a “hard” read because this book will make you look like a crazy person. This book came with a warning and it was a wrong decision on my part not to heed on that warning.
5. When It Rains by Lisa De Jong
This book was pure evil. I never thought this book had the power to punch my lungs and make my knees go weak and my tear ducts swell at 3 in the morning. This book should’ve come with a warning that goes “PREPARE TONS OF TISSUES”
6. Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas
This book was my favorite in her Wallflowers series because it features my most unexpected and yet favorite couple in the series.
7. The Hooker and the Hermit by L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid
Penny Reid has always been my favorite but this was the first time I read something from L.H. Cosway and I have to say that these two should come up with more books.
8. Cold Burn of Magic by Jennifer Estep
Aside from getting me out of my book slump, this book made me come back to reading fantasy again. I love the idea of love, especially those mushy type of love, and yet this did the impossible and made me want more of the actual story line rather than the romance.
9. The Other C-Word by M.K. Schiller
This was another surprising book I’ve read this year. It’s so hard finding a sexy book that has an actual story in it. Usually some romance books tend to concentrate on romance that story ends up lacking. This book was the total opposite. I laughed, cried, and swooned over this, like I said, surprise in every turn.
10. Addicted to You Krista & Becca Ritchie
This book, or rather this series, was so honest and real I loved every bit of its sincerity in portraying the lives of its characters. There was no sugar-coating on the story because it addresses an issue that’s never meant for fairy tales. It was a bit of heavy read for me despite it’s romantic content but I’m definitely looking forward to reading the rest of books in this series.
How about you? I want to know what’s on your list!
